Name : Madoka Kyo
Alias : Kyo, Firebringer
Gender : Male
"C. Type" : Yokai (nogitsune, specifically; six-tailed)
Age : Approx. 100, looks somewhere below 20.
Religion : Agnostic
Sexuality : Asexual
Marital Status : Single
Origin : Born in Taka Pass.
Current Residence : A traveler
Occupation : Wandering merchant & musician
Height : 5'4" in.
Weight : 124 lbs.
Body Type : Petite, boyish at best. Few particularly developed muscles to speak of.
Skin : Pale and smooth.
Eyes : Gold
Hair : Long and soft, his hair is a sandy shade of blonde. It falls to his mid-back. He tends to tie part of it to the side with a black ribbon. Though the human he copied had black hair, his human form apparently "decided" to have blonde, perhaps in lieu of his fur colour.
Clothing : In general, Madoka's appearance is quite...feminine. He regrets mimicking the first human he found once he was old enough to shapeshift, in his childish haste, but he works with what he's got. Typically, he wears a plain brown hakama over a red-and-white striped furisode, kept in place by a red obi tied in a chōchō musubi-style knot. He wears a pair of takai geta, slightly worn from wear, with black tabi beneath.
In order to maintain his human form, he wears a hood stuffed with reeds, oddly enough forming the shape of fox ears. Whenever people ask, he often tells them it's to make him as clever as a fox so that people can't cheat him.
Speech : In copying a human, perhaps the worst thing a kitsune could imagine is making a flaw in their countenance. As such, he was very careful in mimicking his human. Though his hair didn't turn out as he might have liked, the voice did...unfortunately. With his own characteristics taken into account, the result is an androgynous, detached or even apathetic-sounding voice. The only time it really shows any emotion to speak of is when he's blindly angry or singing, the latter of which he's been told he's somewhat good at. Not the best, but it's still nice. In terms of his speech habits, he speaks clearly and concisely; he isn't afraid to voice his thoughts.
Personality : When you get down to it, Madoka is almost wholly selfish. He tends to be a bit greedy. He cares little for the plights of others unless it's truly pitiable, instead preferring to simply watch how things play out. Humans amuse him to no end, so why interfere with this entertainment? However, he (no longer) has any interest in causing their problems beyond a small prank every once in a while. To say the least, he's a tad...apathetic in that sense. He's been there and done that, after all. It wound up boring him.
Normally, he's relatively calm, but it doesn't take much to irritate him. Fortunately, he's not the type to act on impulses unless he's legitimately frightened. Most humans don't seem to pose enough of a threat for him to be legitimately frightened, anyway. With that level head of his and his practically emotionless voice, he has a fantastic poker face. His feelings are usually very difficult to read clearly, even to the most perceptive of people.
As characteristic of most kitsune, Madoka is also quite intelligent. He's a clever boy, able to work his way in and out of trouble with relative ease. He's very observant, taking note of small things that many people would miss- or at least, he'd hope most other people would miss. Such observant people are dangerous to be around when you've a secret of your own. However, he normally prefers to keep to himself above all else, so he doesn't usually have to worry about such types unless he's running his stand. No sense in staying around humans unless they're either doing something amusing or buying something interesting; to him, that's about all they're invariably good for.

History : To be blunt, Madoka's life hasn't been anything particularly remarkable. His mother was a kitsune, his father a human of moderate wealth. There was no drama surrounding their relationship or his birth; his mother was faithful and his father was smart enough to not have any prior commitments to stray from. He was simply born in Taka Pass. He simply lived there with his family. He was sent away for a few years for schooling, and when he was old enough, he simply went to live on his own.
Once alone, he lived a somewhat normal life working as a merchant's apprentice. One day, the merchant was robbed. The man lost everything he had, and decided to leave off to either get it back or somehow find a new fortune. He decided there was no point in keeping Madoka around, so he let him off on his own.
After that, Madoka decided he'd cause a bit of trouble, for lack of anything better to do. He caused mischief here and there, occasionally with a small spark of fire (though that was rather rare and saved for people who had somehow wronged him). But after maybe five or ten years of that, he got bored. He became another merchant's apprentice (somewhere around fifty?), and when that merchant eventually succumbed to a strange illness in Sei-An, he inherited the business. Practically ever since then, he's been running around Nippon with a buggy filled with odds-and-ends and vending them off where he can. And if that doesn't work, he plays a shamisen for extra yen.
Allegiance : Himself.
Weapons : Carries both a Wakizashi and a Tanto on his right hip for protection.
Magic : Being a kitsune, Madoka is able to shapeshift into a human, though he must have reeds on his head to do so. Though he's normally able to keep his head, remarkable amounts of fear or pain (sometimes merely unexpected pain) will make him turn back into a fox. He is also able to start and manipulate fire to some extent. However, being as apathetic as he is nowadays, he doesn't care to go around starting fires anymore, and will only use these abilities as protection in a last resort.
